increasinghealthyfoodaccessinruralandreservationbasedNativecommunitiesandimprovingthehealth
andwellbeingofNativeAmericanchildrenandfamilies.Inthepast,FirstNationshassupportedavarietyof
innovativeprojects,includingfoodsovereigntyassessments,commercialkitchens,farmers'market
developmentandexpansion,farmtotableprograms,communitygardens,nutritioneducationprograms,
foodrepurposing,mentorshipprojects,andtraditionalfoodsprojects,tonameafew.
Prioritywillbegiventoprojectsaimedatincreasingtheavailabilityofhealthy,locallyproducedfoodsin
Nativecommunities,reducingfoodinsecurity,promotingaccessestofresh,healthyandtraditionalfoods,
entrepreneurshipand/orprogramsthatcreatesystemicchangebyincreasingcommunitycontroloflocal
