ToneitUpTuesdayFitnessUnit

Overview:ThisunitwillbecompletedoneveryTuesdayforthedurationof13weeks.It
willcoverGeneralOutcomeBaswellaspartsofGeneralOutcomeA.Studentswilllearn
aboutfitnessandtheimportanceofproperformwhileworkingout.ToneitupTuesday
exposesstudentstoavarietyofexercisesandemphasizestheimportanceofaproper
warmupandcooldownbeforeandafterexercising.
Rationale:ToneitupTuesdayisimportantforstudentsbecauseitprovidesatleastone
dayperweekwheretheyareparticipatinginvigorousphysicalactivity.Itisimportantfor
studentstounderstandthatthereismoretoPhysicalEducationthanbeingathleticand
obtainingthenecessaryskillstocompeteinasport.Havingknowledgeaboutfitnessin
generalandknowinghowtoperformexercisesisveryimportantinordertostayactive
forlife.Thisunitexposesstudentstoavarietyofworkoutsandexercisesinhopesthat
theywillfindsomethingtheyenjoyandstickwithitthroughouttheirlifetime.
