Plan

Assemble the mold on brass plate.

Thoroughly coat the surface and interior surfaces with chemical agent to
prevent the material under test from sticking

Do
Heat sample (135-140C, 30-60min)

Strain the melted sample through a 300um sieve.

Thorough stirring and pour sample into the mold until it more than level full

Pour sample back and forth from end to end of the mold
Avoid incorporating bubbles

Allow sample to cool at ambient temperature (30-40 min),

Then cut off the excess sample with hot spatula/knife

Clean chemical agent with water tap and then place it in the testing bath
(30min)
Control bath temp (Testing temp.0.1C)
Place the plate and mold with sample into testing bath (90 min 5min)
Temperature: +25 degC
Use Thermometer ASTM 63C
Sample immersed in testing bath, depth not less than 10cm
Then remove the side pieces and attach the rings at each end of the clips to
the hooks in testing machine.

The pulling rate 5cm/min5.0%

Start machine and pull the two clips apart at a uniform speed to an
elongation of 100.25 cm
Stop the elongation and immediately cut the test specimen into two halves at
the midpoint using the scissors
Samples shall not come cross-sectional or come to the surface of the water,
nor touches the bottom of the bath at any time during the test.
Allow the specimen to remain in the testing machine in an undisturbed
condition at the specified temperature for a period of 60 min
Record the total length of the specimen with the severed ends just touching
each other

E = original elongation of the specimen, cm

Recovery,% =100(E - X) / E

X = elongation of the specimen with severed ends just touching, cm

Report to the nearest whole percent the average of three normal tests

Clean all the equipments (device, sample containers, accessories) after use

Liquid solvent used for cleaning classified B3 (tricholorethylene)
