Instructional Plan in English for Grade 9 Students


I.

Objectives

At the end of 60-minute period, the students will have been able to:
Infer thoughts, feelings, and intentions in the material to view, and
Analyze literature as a means of discovering the self through.

Motivation
LOGOS: Each group is given a blank name tag. Explain to the group
that corporations are recognized by a specific logo or symbol.
(McDonalds arches, 3M, Apple Computer's Apple, etc.) They are given
2 minutes to draw their personal logo. This logo should reflect their
personality, their interests, or anything they would like other people to
know about them. Then give the group time to present their group with
the class.
Discussion
The teacher will introduce the next topic The Seven Ages of Man by
William Shakespeare on page 9 of the learners module by having them
share their ideas if what will be the topic about base on the picture on
the board.
The teacher will lead the students to the discussion of the answer to
the focus question What roles can I perform that will make a
difference in my life?
Before reading the poem, The Seven Ages of Man, the teacher will
discuss about William Shakespeare while showing his picture to the
students.
The teacher will read the poem while the students list in their notebook
the difficult words to be defined before they read the text.
Activity
Listening. They will listen as the teacher talks about William
Shakespeare and listen as the teacher reads the poem The Seven
Ages of Man. While listening, they will write the difficult words in their
notebook and for the teacher to help them define each.
For the students to gain insight of human condition and roles in life,
they will read the poem all together. Then, do the stop-reading
afterwards for a chance to have the discussion per line as well as per
stanza.
They will answer (orally) the follow up questions about the poem.
