How
Consequences
are
used
with
Rules:
1. If
a
student
is
not
prepared
for
class
on
a
regular
basis,
then
there
will
be
a
chat
with
the
student
about
their
delay
on
schoolwork,
missing
assignments,
etc.
If
it
continues,
there
will
be
a
call
home
to
the
parent
explaining
the
situation.
Lastly,
if
it
still
continues,
then
it
will
be
brought
attention
to
the
principal
or
guidance
counselor.
2. If
a
student
chooses
to
disrespect
another
student,
I
will
then
talk
to
them
after
class
about
what
they
did
wrong.
If
it
continues,
there
will
be
a
phone
call
home,
and
again,
if
it
still
continues,
it
will
be
directed
to
the
office.
3. If
a
student
doesnt
keep
their
hands
to
their
self,
then
there
will
be
a
chat
with
the
student
after
class.
If
this
still
continues,
it
will
be
directly
forwarded
to
the
principal.
This
consequence
is
much
more
harsh
due
to
the
fact
that
keeping
your
hands
to
yourself
is
a
serious
regulation.
4. If
a
student
keeps
disrupting
the
classroom
by
talking,
then
there
will
be
a
chat
with
the
student
after
class.
If
it
continues,
there
will
be
a
phone
call
home,
and
again,
if
it
continues,
the
student
will
be
directed
to
the
office.
Procedures/Routines:
1. Upon
arrival,
students
must
immediately
grab
their
instrument
from
their
locker
and
get
in
their
seat.
Once
seated,
they
should
get
their
instruments
assembled
and
get
ready
to
play.
Students
may
individually
warm
up
until
the
director
is
on
the
podium.
2. The
rehearsal
plan
will
be
posted
on
the
projector
when
students
arrive.
It
will
be
posted
all
class
so
students
always
know
what
is
going
to
come
next
during
the
lesson.
3. Attendance
will
be
taken
alphabetically.
Students
will
be
assessed
on
their
assigned
excerpt
when
they
are
called
upon.
4. Once
rehearsal
begins,
students
may
not
talk
to
their
neighbor
unless
it
is
about
the
music.
If
a
student
has
a
question,
they
must
raise
their
hand
until
they
are
called
on.
5. While
the
director
is
working
with
other
sections,
students
are
expected
to
review
difficult
passages
on
their
own
until
they
are
instructed
to
play.
Homework
and
electronics
are
prohibited
from
the
rehearsal
room
unless
told
otherwise.
6. Students
must
only
put
their
instruments
away
when
the
teacher
instructs
them
to
do
so.
Expectations
of
the
Teacher:
Be
prepared
for
each
lesson
Respect
and
treat
every
student
fairly
Provide
after
school
opportunities
to
assist
students
who
have
questions
Be
enthusiastic
about
the
content
being
taught
and
maintain
active
involvement
in
music
Expectations
of
the
Student:
Respect
all
classroom
rules
Be
actively
engaged
in
all
classroom
assignments
Participate
in
maintaining
a
positive
community
within
the
classroom
Minor
Disruptions:
If
a
student
is
chatting
to
their
neighbor
while
you
are
giving
a
presentation,
a
simple
way
to
fix
this
is
to
go
near
their
proximity.
This
will
not
only
save
you
time
by
not
disrupting
the
class,
but
it
will
keep
the
class
going
without
other
students
noticing.
Minor
disruptions
should
be
taken
with
a
grain
of
salt
and
should
be
solved
easily.
On-going
Discipline
Issues:
These
issues
can
be
fixed
by
making
a
call
home
and/or
talking
to
the
principal.
In
order
to
fix
the
problem,
you
will
need
to
get
to
the
root
of
the
problem.
Maybe
finding
out
what
may
be
causing
the
childs
disruptive
behavior
could
help
you
stop
it.
However,
if
the
student
continuously
disrupts
the
class
even
after
the
teacher
works
with
the
student
on
multiple
occasions,
they
will
be
asked
to
leave
the
music
program
permanently.
Aggressive
and
Violent
Behaviors:
Its
absolutely
not
okay
for
aggressive
behavior
to
occur
within
the
classroom.
If
there
is
any
type
of
violence,
the
student
will
be
removed
from
the
classroom
immediately
and
be
sent
to
directly
to
the
principal.
