Waukesha County Technical College Foundation Scholarship Committee:

It is my distinct pleasure to recommend Amy Sampson as a deserving individual for a
Waukesha County Technical College Foundation Scholarship. In the entire time I have had the
privilege to know her, she has always had a positive and energetic passion for her future. She has
always exhibited integrity and honesty as a student and as an individual in all of our conversations.
Amy was a student in two of my classes at Carroll University. The first class was BUS 302
Principles of Management in Spring of 2013. The second class was BUS 305 Operations
Management in Fall of 2013. Amy earned an A in both classes where she demonstrated very
clearly that was a very hardworking, intelligent and passionate individual.
In our Principles of Management class we used group class discussion in which Amy participated
in fully with well thought out questions and comments. This class also included a team project
assignment, which provided the experience of team cooperation.
An example of her critical thinking and analysis occurred in our class when we were reviewing the
results of an exam. Students in the class were aware of how detailed some of the components of
the questions could effect choosing the correct answer. Amy, very respectfully, questioned an
answer based on the wording of the question. Her solid arguments to support her position lead me
to reexamine the question and provide a positive impact to the class.
In our Operations Management class, the class material contained many complex ideas and
analytic tools, which she mastered very quickly. We again had group discussions and teamwork
throughout the course and Amy worked well in that environment.
I was always impressed in Amys clear understanding of her interests and passions. In obtaining
her Bachelors degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship gives her
a strong basis to support her continued education endeavors in Early Childhood Education which
was a part of her future plans when she was student in my classes in 2013.
I had the opportunity after our classes ended to see her on campus and have conversations about
her plans. Her positive, move forward attitude was always present in our discussions.
In summary, I highly recommend Amy Sampson for the scholarship. She is intelligent, hard
working, enthusiastic and filled with potential. If you have any questions, please feel free to
