Stomp Your Name
I will have the children standing
up in a large circle I will show
them pictures of their
classmates with their names on
them. The names will show the
name broken down in to
syllables. I will stomp out the
syllables in my name and allow
the children to do the same. We
will continue to do all the names
in the class. This activity will
promote learning sounds and
syllables.

(A Movement Rhyme)
Two little feet go tap, tap, tap.
Two little hands go clap, clap, clap.
One little body, twirls around.
One quiet body sits back down.
I will seat in circle and act out the
movements with the children. We
will sing the song twice and do the
movements each time.
This song promotes the concept of
rhyme, such words like clap and
tap. The children will be about to
do the movements that correlate
the words that are being spoken.
Extended: Each day add a different
move and a different rhyming word.

This book show a family shopping
for a meal they will cook for their
family. This book focuses on
number concept but can also be
used to discuss shape as the
children look at the different shapes
of the different food items.
