In-service vs. Out-of-service Installations For in-service and out-o-servce installations, how a guidewire is anchored at the tank bottom and welding parts to on the tank are ‘major considerations Floating Roof Tank Installations In floating roof tank installations ts recommended that gauges be installed ina floatwel, rather than attaching the tape directly to the tank root. The floatwell should contain abatfl ta prevent the float {rom escaping, but also allow sufficient product movement to ‘equalize the liquid level. No tape should be exposed, outside of the roof or pipework. if any section ofthe tape is currently exposed it should be replaced with a stainiess steel, flexible cable.
