My student teaching full-practicum and pre-practicum is in an ESL 1 classroom at Excel High


School (Boston Public Schools). I work with 29 Vietnamese students for 3 periods a day. All of
my students in this class are identified as WIDA level 1. I work with 20 FLEPs of multiple
ethnicities one period a day. Within the classroom I am responsible for co-teaching with my
supervising practitioner twice a day, leading whole class instruction one period a day,
completing formative checks for understanding as well as assessments, writing content and
language objectives, creating handouts, attending every staff meeting (2-3x a week), and
providing support for students during independent work.
