Dear Hiring Professional:
Please accept my resume as a teacher candidate into the Ontario College of Teachers. I believe I would make an
excellent educator due to my drive, perseverance, dedication to teaching, teacher specific skill sets, energy and
enthusiasm for teaching. I continually work to improve my teaching practice through self-assessment, reflection
and any feedback from working professionals. I have confidence in my abilities as an educator, my commitment
to lifelong learning and success of students by means of providing differentiated instruction to diverse learners
of varying cultural, social, and academic backgrounds and needs, which is why I believe I would be an asset to
your organization.
My goal in education is to help students realize their full potential and guide them in becoming strong and
positive contributing members to their communities and society. This will be accomplished by cultivating a
constructive, collaborative, cooperative and safe learning environment within the classroom. Students will be
encouraged to explore, inquire, self-discover, build a tolerance for other points of views, and take ownership of
their education in order to foster intrinsic motivation as to stimulate a passion for learning; ultimately building
the skills sets needed to achieve their personal goals.
Having a Science background, I am focused on teaching by implementing strategies which encourage students
to think critically, explore multiple solutions, and provide open ended questions to stimulate thought whilst
learning through a breadth of tasks which are interesting and relevant to students lives. Cooperative and
inquiry-based strategies are but a few I would employ to enhance and enrich student learning as to foster
proficiency in fundamental skill building. I thrive on stimulating students curiosity and willingness to learn by
creating habits of thought that revolve around perseverance to succeed. Through my practicum experiences, I
demonstrated a sound understanding of the Ontario curriculum whilst teaching a diverse group of learners
through differentiated instruction which was effective, engaging and purposeful. I feel that by building a strong
rapport and connection with students, I am able to establish an understanding of my classroom community and
be responsive to students needs.
I employ a high standard of professionalism and establish positive relations with staff and students in a variety
of settings within the school. I am organized, have excellent leadership skills as well as interpersonal skills. In
past experiences I have demonstrated initiatives and accepted responsibilities expected of me. I value diverse
perspectives and collaborate effectively with associate teachers. I am passionate about being involved in extracurricular activities. In my practicum at John G. Althouse, I have assisted in coaching the intermediate boys
volleyball team. In my volunteering experiences at St. Edmond Campion Secondary School, I have assisted in
coaching both the junior and senior boys soccer teams. I will continue to be involved in extra-curricular
activities in future career positions.
Given my personal skills, practical and education experience, I am confident in my ability as an educator and
feel I would be an asset to the teaching community. I appreciate your time and consideration
Sincerely,
Martin Wysocki
