It is with a great deal of pride and pleasure that I write this letter recommending Nikki Lee to the Pete P. Peters Honors Program. My relationship with Nikki is unique in that I have had the pleasure of knowing her for over eight years and in many capacitiesas a coach, a teacher and on a personal level as her mentor. There are various qualities that Nikki Lee holds that make her stand out among her peers. She is ranked in the top 25 of her class with a 4.0 GPA, Nikki is extremely self-motivated and willing and dedicated to learning. She has challenged herself throughout her high school career, taking advanced placement courses such as AP European History, Biology, and Composition and Literature. I had the pleasure of having Nikki as a student her freshman year; when observing her in the classroom, not only does she have great skill in working with her hands, she is extremely quick at grasping new concepts, is a creative thinker and has an eye for details. Her accomplishments extend far beyond the classroom, she has been able to carry a rigorous workload while also participating in 2 seasonal sports, water polo and swimming, both on the varsity level for her entire high school career. As a junior she placed third in the Valley in individual events and also played a key role in her relay teams multiple first place wins in Division I swimming. As a student at Sanger High School, Nikki has been actively involved in various activities such as California Scholastic Federation, FHA-HERO, FFA and Art Club. Nikki has been president of Art Club for the past three years for which I advise. During this period of time, Nikki has displayed and carried out key leadership characteristics and duties such as leading club meetings, preparing the club agenda as well as fundraising, publicity activities and organizing field trips. Nikki demonstrated outstanding citizenship and trustworthiness through her attendance, participation and performance. On a personal level, I have known Nikki for over eight years when I first started as a coach for Sangers recreational swim team; Nikki possesses great integrity, compassion and spirit. Nikki has encountered challenges unlike her peers and has shown commitment and perseverance during the most difficult times. Being a Reedley College Pete P. Peters Honors Program alumni, I believe Nikki Lee will contribute to the program but also actively provide and participate in
giving back to the community. She will not hesitate to create
opportunities to fulfill her educational goals or assist others in theirs. For all of these reasons, I believe Nikki Lee will be a positive addition to your organization. Please feel free to contact me for further information. Sincerely,
