POSITIVE FACTORS
EFFECT ON SCHOOL/MY TEACHING
Weekly PLCs are focused on
student data. Teachers compare data from different assessments to regroup students for intervention time.
Teachers are given time each week to
discuss data and collaborate with their colleagues to ensure that all student needs are met. Meeting agendas and minutes are posted to our Google Drive.
PLC room has the following:
4th/5th grade students grouped
based on their reading/math EOG scores Reading 3D data for K3rd
We avoid the I didnt know excuse
that is sometimes overheard. We refer to the data during every meeting to ensure that the strategies and lessons that we are preparing are going to maximize student achievement.
Every classroom is required to
have a data wall and data notebook to ensure that teachers and students understand where they are and where they need to be.
There is a daily reminder of the work
that needs to be for both teachers and students. It requires both parties to reflect on their practices and work and ask themselves, Am I doing all that I can to grow?

Our teachers need to learn how to dive deeper into data, standards, and other teaching strategies to ensure that rigorous, engaging instruction occurs every day in every classroom.
PLC discussions lead to updating
hallway anchor charts to better address students needs.

data. We need to teach them what it means and how they can grow.

become heavily involved in PLCs until mid-October due to master scheduling issues. A new master schedule is in place and administrators are present at

expectations. We have to teach and model for our teachers what we expect data talks and collaborative planning to look like.

involved in grade level PLCs. Possibly divide up PLCs amongst the team so that we can focus on better supporting teachers where
There is a lack of Common Formative
Assessments (CFAs) across all grade levels. Some teachers work collaboratively on assessments while others do not. We have several vacancies with long-term subs that sometimes struggle with creating
Other than our MAP benchmark
assessments (given 3x per year), we have no common data across grade-levels to examine areas of strength and areas in need of improvement.
Ask for help from neighboring teachers!
Use some documents from Pactolous School in Pitt County, etc. Use DPI resources to better prepare our students for upcoming assessments from the state.
Some of our teachers do not
understand how to effectively use their classroom data to provide effective and strategic intervention and remediation for all students.
If data isnt used to drive
instruction throughout the day, we are failing our students.
