Assignment 2
1. We have studied about Nuclear power plants. Based on the learnings,
explain the various aspects of the nuclear reactor, steam generator and the
steam turbine installed in 2 x 1000 MW Kudamkulam power plant.
2. Based on the technical details available in relevant websites, briefly explain
how the various existing power plants are selected as base load or variable
load plants during the operation of a regional grid in India.
3. Briefly explain the various functions of a switch yard and its control room in
a power plant.
4. Briefly explain micro-hydel power plants and some of its location in India.
5. Have a look at both the WEGs available at EEE dept. and present the
important parameters of the same.
