BIOGRAPHY OF ANTHONY TAN

1. Identify an entrepreneur. Briefly describe his profile

1(a). Brief Profile
Son of a billionaire, Tan Heng Chew which hold rank at 16 most riches
man in Malaysia, Anthony Tan co-founded MyTeksi App at 33 years old
and establish the company that promise a fortune. This idea was
originally a business-plan contest for his school which turn out to be a
great idea. After graduating from Harvard Business School in 2011, he
was expected to work for his father company, instead he created
MyTeksi with raising almost $340 million in venture and loans: Japans
Softbanks is its biggest investor. His early idea is GrabTaxi which
facing change to MyTeksi in June 2012.
Anthony is the Group CEO and Co-founder of Grab, the largest tech
start-up in Southeast Asia. Grab is a social enterprise with a mission to
revolutionize the way people move.. Grab family is comprised of
passionate, driven and highly talented individuals. Regardless of race,
religion, gender and socio-economic backgrounds, one thing is
common, the Grab family holds each other to high personal values.
Grab is now in six countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand,
has grown over 10 times in less than a year. Grab's focus on safety,
speed and certainty is the reason why it has become the region's
number one ride sharing mobile app.

1(b). identify two drivers to success.

1. Anthony owes 100% of his success to God. He loves serving God,
keeping his family happy, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and
working hard.
2. According to Susan Cunningham, contributor and writer for Forbes
article, Anthony was inspired by his entrepreneurial grandfather, Tan
Yuet Foh, who was a Kuala Lumpur taxi driver before creating the
multi-national auto sales-and assembly empire.

2. Briefly describe two of his domain characteristics that contribute to his success.
a) His motivation comes from creating real value for the masses by
constructively solving real problems.
