PURPOSE(THISISOBSERVATIONandQUESTION):
Throughpriorknowledgeofthe
scientificequationonphotosynthesis(light+CO2+H2O)Iknewthatinordertogrowa
plantthatIneededtheseelements.Throughtheuseofaphotosynthesissimulatorit
becameapparentthattemperatureandlightintensitymatteredaswell.Itwasthese
observationsthatledmetowonderifaddinganothervariablewouldmakemyplant
growfasterthanthesimulation.Asaresult,Iattemptedanexperimenttoseewhat
variablewillhelpmakemyplantgrowfaster.

HYPOTHESIS:

IfIgrowacontrolgroupplantandleaveitunderwhitelightatahigh
intensityandat25degrees,andhave3experimentalgroupsunderthesameconditions
butwithclubsoda,tea,andcoffeegroundsaddedtothem,thenIpredictthe
experimentalgroupswillgrowfasterbecausethecoffeegroundsandtheclubsodaand
theteawillhelpitgrowbetterthanregularwaterorsoil.Eachexperimentalgrouphasa
certainkindofnutrients(carbon,oxygen,hydrogen,sodium,etc.)thatwouldhelpthe
plantgrowfaster.

grownonebitoverperiod.

Therewerecoffeegroundsinoneoftheplants.Weusedregularsoilandwereplaced
thewaterwithclubsoda.Andwealsousedregularsoilinoneoftheplantsand
replacedthewaterwithtea.Ourcontrolwasregularsoilandweusedregularwater.

CONCLUSION:
Wehaveputinthesameamountofliquidsthatwasrequiredforeachplant.The
resultsisthateachplantbesidesteaandcoffeegroundshavegrowndifferently.The
clubsodadidsurprisinglywellatthestart,untiltragedieshappenedasitshrank30
millimetersatthebeginningofMarchandstarts

togrowafterthat.Thisiswhenthe
controlcomesintoplayandgoesonaskyrocketliketheclubsodadidbutitsetsits
pastegrowing5millimeterseachdayinMarch11.Welearnedfromthelabthatiswas
notwrong,butitwas
overallrejectedbecausetheclubsodashrunkduringtheprocess.Evenwhenour
plantswasmovedbecausethescentofanotherpersonsplantsmelledlikerotteneggs,
westillthinkthatitwasfairbecauseourplantshadnoeffectfromthenastysmell.Why
didtheclubsodaworksowellforonly10daysuntilitshrinks?Howcomethecoffee
groundsdidntwork?Howcometheteadidntwork?Ifwedidntaddcoffeegroundsto
oneoftheplantswillithaveworkedbetter?Ifyoudosomethingthatisabitdifferent
fromtheoriginal,thenitwillhaveadifferenteffectthatwillmaketheoriginalbetter.
