Background : Stroke is the sudden onset of clinical signs, rapid progression, in the form of
focal neurological deficits and / or global, lasting 24 hours or more or the direct cause of
death, and solely caused by non-traumatic disorders of blood circulation. According to the
pathogenesis of stroke can be divided into ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke. The
incidence of stroke associated with infection remains one of the major complications,
especially in acute stroke and a third will experience nasokomial infection typically affects
the lungs and urinary tract. Nosocomial infections are infections that develop in 48 hours
after hospital admission or show symptoms of infection at 48 hours and do not constitute an
incubation period of infection when admitted to hospital. Leukocyte count and neutrophil
counts are often used as a blood marker of the clinical status of acute inflammation. This
study was conducted to provide a profile picture of infection in acute stroke patients were
treated in stroke unit dr. Kariadi hospital during the period January - December 2015.
Methods The study was conducted retrospectively through medical records of stroke patients
who were treated in Stroke Unit Dr. Kariadi Hospital since the month of January to December
2015. The data were obtained through medical record patient during treatment in stroke units
Dr. Kariadi Hospital, being recorded and analyzed.

Kariadi selama periode Januari Desember 2015.
Metode : Penelitian dilakukan secara retrospektif melalui catatan medis penderita stroke
yang dirawat di Unit Stroke RSUP Dr. Kariadi sejak bulan Januari - Desember 2015. Data
diperoleh melalui catatan rekam medis pasien selama perawatan di unit stroke RSUP Dr.
Kariadi, dilakukan pencatatan dan dianalisa.
