5. INSTALL / UNINSTALL
5.1. FIXING THE BNR IN THE HOST MACHINE
NOTE: Fixing the BNR in the Host Machine may require a specific assembly
provided by the Host Machine manufacturer.
The BNR Chassis has various holes that allow mounting the system on the side or
bottom to the host machine hardware. The mounting accessories for the BNR system
are not supplied in the package.
For this operation you will need three M5 screws for side mounting or four M4
countersunk head screws for bottom mounting.

5.2. GROUNDING CONNECTION

The BNR must be connected to the Host Machine local electric earth.

Warning, the connection to the local electrical ground / earth (equipotential) is

absolutely necessary to ensure the correct operation of the BNR system and a good
immunity against electromagnetic interferences.

Use one of the free fixing points of the Chassis to fix the cable to the ground.
Earthing: MEI recommends connecting the BNR Chassis to the main Host Machine
chassis.
Insulation: The BNR is internally equipped with a 1 Mohm resistor between case
and 0 VDC.
USB cable: The BNR shielded cable is internally connected to the GND electronics.
0 VDC link: When the BNR is powered with a dedicated power supply, MEI does not
recommend linking the 0 VDC lead of this supply to the Host Machine general 0 VDC
power supply reference.
Galvanic separation: Because there is a risk of interference noise (current loops)
when many power supplies are connected, for powering the BNR, MEI recommends
using a premium quality dedicated power supply with a galvanic separation.

12. ON SITE CLEANING

It may happen that the Main Module were out of service because of dust around
gears, belts, motors or optic guides.

The Main Module has to be cleaned every 60 days or every 50000 cycles.

The dust is due to banknote fibers which accumulate around critical parts.
The best solution to clean the Main Module is to blow the dust with a spray of
compressed air.
NOTE: On some pictures, the power cable and the USB cable are not represented
for better understanding.
1. For this operation you will need a spray of filtered and

compressed air with a max pressure of 50 PSI (=3.5 bars).
