Activities
Day 1:
A PowerPoint will
be shown to the
students
explaining logos,
the design,
evolution, and
creation of them.
Day 2:
An explanation of
the project will be
given to the
students, and
they will be given
their logo to
design by the
teacher. The
students will
begin to sketch
out ideas on
newsprint.
Day 3:
The students will
continue to
sketch on
newsprint to
refine their ideas
with the direction
and feedback
from the teacher.
Day 4:
The students will
draw a completed
sketch of their
logo design on
newsprint, and
they will begin to
think about color
choices.

Day 5:
The students will
draw their logo
design on white
paper.
Day 6:
The students will
start to color their
logo designs.

Name Design

Day 7:
The students will
finish coloring
their logo
designs.
Day 1:
Discussion of the
project will be
given relating it
back to the things
they already
know about
commercial art. I
will then explain
the first step,
which is to draw a
name on the page
of their choosing
with a letter
design in an
orientation that I
explained.
Day 2:
Reiteration will be
given on the
project and the
next step will be
explained, which
is to choose a grid
pattern to draw
on their page
across their name

that I draw
examples of.
Day 3:
The steps will be
reiterated. The
next thing they
will do is to trace
the outline of
their name in a
marker. They will
then choose two
colors to color
their background.
Day 4:
The students will
finish coloring
their background.
Day 5:
They will choose
two opposite
colors from the
background to
color their letters.
Day 6:
The students will
chose a pattern to
fill in the on the
colors in their
background that
will be completed
with the same
color as the
section but with a
sharpie.
Day 7:
The students will
finish drawing
their pattern with
a sharpie on their

background.
