The Black Lives Matter Movement

The Black Lives Matter movement protests injustice, racism and
discrimination toward blacks.
My purpose is to make people understand that the movement is not
dismissing the lives of others, but its fighting for justice and equality for
black people, which have been subliminally dined to them by both state
and federal government.
My speech goes out to all those people that keep commenting
#AllLivesMatters under a post about Black Lives Matter.
Since the late 1940s, black people have been victims of police brutality.
Throughout the American history black people have been minorities,
victims of injustice and violence. When we are trying to make the future
different from the past, people are going against that.

Rhetorical Move: Style

Incudes a list of African American that got killed by police officers and a list
of examples of times of injustices and violences toward black people in
America.
On August 9th 2014 18 years old Michael Brown was shot by officer
Darren Wilson. Investigation reveals that Brown was unarmed and
posed no threats. The grand jury decided not to indict officer Wilson of
any charges of crime. On November 22nd, 2014 12 years old Tamir
Rice
Throughout the American history black people have been minorities,
victims of injustice and violence. From slavery, to the civil war, to an
illusion of freedom, to Jim Crow Laws and the KKK, to the Civil right
Movement and now to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Rhetorical Move: Logos

Provide evidences and examples that prove why Black Lives Matter
should not be change to All Lives Matter.
On July 17th 2014 Eric Garner died of neck compression from a
chokehold along with the compression of his chest and prone
positioning during a physical restraint by police officer Daniel
Pantaleo. Officer Pantaleo was not indicted by the grand jury, even
after the New York City medical examiner ruled that Garner's death
was a homicide.
Shows that my speech is not just opinion base that my argument is
based on facts and real events that have affected the black
communities throughout the U.S.

Rhetorical Move: Ethos

Use quotes from famous and influential black activist to establish
credibility.
Its as Ta-Nehisi Coates explains in his book Between The World and
Me, the police department of [our] country have endowed with the
authority to destroy [our] body. It does not matter if it originates in
a misunderstanding. It does not matter if the destruction springs
from a foolish policy
With all these white officers killing black men and getting away with
it, Malcolm X must have been speaking the truth when he said that,
The KKK has traded their white sheets for police uniforms.
My speech will be more persuasive because audience will trust and
