Analytical Skills

Designed an observational study to analyze complex mother-child interactions including


sensitivity and responsiveness which have never before been measured, in response to a
gap in the literature
Conducted a literature review and wrote a section of a book chapter on home literacy
Researched language transfer effects in children in French immersion education programs
resulting in a conference presentation at the Jean Piaget Society (2015)
Contributed to reading, analyzing and providing feedback on a published book about how
children learn to spell

Program Evaluation

Used logic and reasoning to design an evaluation plan for Carletons Peer Assisted Study
Session program by conducting a needs assessment, creating a logic model, developing a

program theory, defining and operationalizing the pertinent variables and proposing a
research design to identify strengths and weaknesses of the program, measure them, and
ultimately make recommendations about the program
Collected, organized and analyzed qualitative and quantitative data from over 1000
participants for a Program Evaluation of the Renfrew County District School Boards
(RCDSB) Special Education Programming. Demonstrated the ability to synthesise and
clearly express research findings by writing the results section of the executive report

classes resulting in an in-depth understanding of these concepts and extensive experience
working with SPSS and MS Office Suite

Communication and Writing

I wrote a TA Article on innovation in the classroom that was chosen to be featured on a


Carleton blog because it was well researched, written and organized
Attended the Canadian Psychological Associations summit on Knowledge Mobilization

TEACHING EXPERIENCE:

I conceptualized, designed and implemented a one-week long EMCP mini-course for 18


high school students interested in Experimental Psychology. My course, Macklemore
and the PS4, earned me a rating of 4.7 out of 5 for both my quality as an instructor and
the course overall from my students demonstrating excellence
As a teaching assistant, I designed and delivered a workshop on APA formatting to third
year university students that was described as, fantastic by my supervisor
demonstrating my ability to make any subject engaging
Earned my Certificate in Teaching Assistant Skills demonstrating initiative and
commitment to teaching pedagogy
Nominated for the Outstanding Teaching assistant Award at both the department and
university levels

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Demonstrated excellent project management by the independent organization,


administration, and supervision of Camp Curious, a summer day camp program for
children ages 6-10 (2012 and 2013)
Used my insight into different learning styles to design a balanced program promoting
physical fitness, inclusion, creativity, imagination, friendship and personal growth.
Successfully managed a $20,000 budget and four staff
