Organizational Dynamics

Assignment 05

Leadership
1. If you were Captain Collings, would you accept things as they are or would you continue
to protest the rules and regulations imposed upon tour station?
A. If I were Captain Collings, as am working my higher official, instead of completely
protesting chiefs opinions I would accept it to some extent. However, profitable
outcomes of an organization cannot achieved without friendly employee atmosphere.
This may result in the improper barriers between the employees and supervisor. Even
though I cannot make change in rules but I can show the difference in system by applying
some proper rules to chief and let him aware of some benefits by them.
2. If you accepted the battalion chiefs wishes for a strict code, how would you handle the
supervision of the firemen? Would you inform your men of how your men of how you
feel and how David Marx feels?
A. In this case, as chief is superior to me I will accept his proposals and as a duty I will try to
convince my employees to follow the same rules and regulations so that the relation
between subordinate and higher level superiors does not effect.
3. If your men then encouraged you to ignore the rules established by the chief, what would
you do?
A. It is my primary ethics to obey my superiors order even if it is tough to accept. However,
every supervisor expect the same from their subordinates. So, as I am the subordinate to
my chief I would never disagree with his orders and I hope the same from my
subordinates.
4. If you disobey the chiefs orders, are you showing the firemen that its all right for you to
disobey, even though you expect them to obey you? Is this situation of cognitive
dissonance for the firemen that is, are they being to hold two mutually contradictory
viewpoints at the same time?
A. Firstly, there is no rise of question disobedience between the employees and manager in
an organization, if it happens in case, there will be drastic failure in the system results in
the loss in productivity. Every single contribution leads the fame to the organization in
the community. Yes, its a cognitive dissonance for firemen. This situation would raise the
confusion in them, to obey the captain in case if he make revolution in chiefs
implementation.
