Introduction
For our project we measure arm length and quad length to see if
they were the same length. We said if arm length is twenty inches
then their quad length should be twenty inches as well. We predict
that it will be a moderate strength with a positive correlation. When
gathering data we did a sample survey and asked random DAHS
students to take measurements on their arm and quad.

Data Set
Population is a group of individuals.
Our projects population is DAHS students.
Sample is a part of the population used to draw conclusions.
Our sample is random DAHS students.
A variable is any characteristic of an individual.
Our explanatory variable is arm length. We picked this as our explanatory variable
because one doesnt control the other.
Our response variable would then be quad length.

Interpret r and r-squared

Correlation is a mutual relationship or connection between two or more things.
Our correlation value is R= 0.841. The direction goes upward, meaning it is
positive. Our correlation strength is strong because it is over .700.
Coefficient of determination is a fraction of the variation in the values of y that is
explained by the regression of y on x.
Our coefficient of determination value is 0.708.
Variation is the percent of the coefficient of determination.
Our variation is 70.8%. Our validity is valid. It is valid because it is close to one.

Prediction
Y= 1.077x- 0.174
Y= 1.077(11)- 0.174
Y= 11.847-0.174
Y= 11.673
If arm length is 11 inches, we can predict quad length will
11.673 inches with a 70.8% variation.

Lurking Variable
One lurking variable would be gender because males are
normally taller than females.
Another lurking variable would be genetic makeup because
everyones genes are different.

Conclusion
We believed that if someones arm length is twenty centimeters, then
their quad length is also twenty centimeters meaning arm and quad are
equal in length.
Our hypothesis was correct for the most part, with some exceptions. The
lengths of arm and quad were pretty similar.
Correction strength was strong and positive. Meaning that our hypothesis
was correct.
