Re: Austin Chandler, Secondary Teacher/Future Administrator To Whom It May Concern, It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Mr. Austin Chandler, Middle School Teacher/Coach at Thrall Secondary campus. As the Superintendent for Thrall I.S.D., I have been acquainted with Austin professionally for the past three years. Mr. Chandler is an excellent classroom teacher and head coach where he has served as a science teacher for the middle school and an athletic coach/head Basketball coach for the middle and high school levels. He is skilled in his teaching strategies and has been a campus leader among teams while serving the campus and students. Austin is a leader and a motivated person with outstanding skills who pursues what is best for his students. He has been completing his internship and administrator requirements to become eligible as a future administrator. Mr. Chandler has attended meetings, been involved with student discipline, and has been fortunate in his quest to be in the role of the administrator when our principals were out for part or all day. Austin shows he is prepared to consider the next step as an administrator. Mr. Chandler is organized and has expressed his desire to join our administrative team in the future. He serves as a leader in his church community as his role as an elder is one he considers significant. Additionally, he is fortunate to have a great mentor as his father is an experienced superintendent in Region 13 and will be available to offer assistance when the need arises; my experience as an administrator for over 15 years shows we have to be open to guidance on occasion! Our current budget did not afford our district the option to add staffing for this next school year and Mr. Chandler has been openly communicating his desire to seek an administrative career within the surrounding school districts. He is a team player and is willing to collaborate, share ideas, or make suggestions. I would highly recommend Mr. Chandler for a position and he would be considered for our district when this opportunity to add staff is afforded. I would recommend Austin Chandler in an administrator position without hesitation and would regret losing him. Thrall ISD has benefitted greatly in having him as a valuable staff member.
