angle

glossary definition
Is made when two rays share the same endpoint.

ray

Is a part of a line that has one endpoint and extends

in one direction without ending.

End point

Is the point at the beginning of a ray.

Vertex

The shared endpoint.

Right angle

A right angle is an internal angle which is equal to

Time

T/SS

12min

I will ask students if the see some real things that have one of the 3 angles. I
will give them an example first then they will answer. After that I will show
them some pictures and they should participate to say which angle they see in
this picture.

T/SS

26 min

I will give each group a geo board, rubber and card. (if the geo board wasnt
available I will use printed geoboard on paper). Before they start I will tell
them the instructions. They will make any shapes from a rubber then from the
card they will identify the type of the angle.

SS

Warming up will be on power point. The students will have to answer some
mathematical questions then one by one square will disappear. When all
students finish from answering the title of the new lesson will appear.
Core (introduce and practice new concepts & procedures):
First I will explain the new vocabulary words by cards. I will make them repeat
it and show how its looks by drawing on a board. Also I may ask them to tell
me what we call this things by them self.

7min

Second I will teach them the 3 types angles by drawing on the board and using
flash cards also by using hands. This to make sure that all student know how
its look like. Also I will make students to make the angles from their hands.
I will ask students to answer the questions on board. For example I will draw
different angles and students should write what it called. I will help them by
writing angles name on the board.

Close (wrap up, discussion, brief review activity or assessment):

SS

I will give each group straws, white board and blu tack to make angle from it. I
will tell them the instructions to work in group, make an angle and write what
it called. Then I want 2 girls from each groups to show their work in front of
the class.
I will make a small review from what they studied before answering in book.
Students will answer questions in book from page 607 to 609.

Professionalism
- LP is extensive and covers all the required steps.
- Objectives were clear but there was only one outcome.
The students will be able to make angles from straws and label them.
Has taken comments from MST and MCT and made sure she did them in the second lesson. 1.
Voice was too soft. Now it is at the right level and pitch. Previously didnt have flashcards of the
vocab. Today was excellent/ Lots of examples. Ss were able to practice orally and in written

form.
Planning for learning
- Asked and wrote the date and day on the board.
- Also wrote the LOs explained to Ss Y
- Instructions were clear. The game was a good way to recap learning and get the name of the
lesson. Does this take too long or is it a good way to start? Before the last square was removed,
could you have asked them to predict what the word would be?
- New vocab introduced. Pronunciation is excellent.
Two lines or two angles meeting are an angle? Which one is it? Why do we have a round or a
square symbol for angle . You should explain this to the Ss
-

Made sure the Ss knew the names of the different angles.

- Having the Ss use their arms to practice the different angles. Good use of kinaesthetic learning
techniques.
- Lots of modelling different angles drawn on the board.
- Ss had to make their own shapes on the geoboard.
- Got the LA Ss involved by asking them to answer questions.
Management of Learning
- Has a good presence with the Ss. Is in charge.
Another Ss please.
- Kept the pace of the lesson.
- Good use of leaders/helpers.
Suggestions
Keep working on your voice projection clear and loud
Keep working on your understanding of helping all Ss even Lower Ability. Differentiation will need to
be looked at.
