Round table whole group:

How can we make things move? Color picture of examples showing objects that are able to move
other objects. Discussion after: what causes these objects to move other objects?
Modeling
Model lab station as whole group. Divide into groups by group clock.
Model station changing with music and what is done at each station.
Guided Practice/monitoring
Perform lab with 3 stations. Stations should be centered around teacher(s) for complete student access to teacher.
Teacher ensures formative assessment and feedback as students complete station cards and check off with each other
and then teacher. One station is a computer interactive to serve as technological aspect of lesson.

Performed during formative assessment shown above. Summative assessment: coloring page color items which are attracted to a magnet. X out moving items which are not moved by a magnet.

Coloring sheets (2), crayons, station cards, containers, coins, water, acrylic sheet, sand,
iron filings, magnets (U, bar, disc), beans, rice, foil, wood, paper, paper clips, large bolts
