Annual School Counseling Program Agreement

School Counselors: Leah Skrypek, Bethany Bealko, Whitney Hull, & Kirsten Coit-Fetty
Year: 2015
School Counseling Program Mission Statement
The Vandalia Elementary Schools Counseling Program strives to create and maintain a diverse
academic community comprised of students, parents, community members, and faculty members based
on the American School Counselor Association National Model: A Framework for School Counseling
Programs. This collaboration serves to generate acceptance and personal well being through
unconditional positive regard, preventative programing, and a learning environment in which all students,
Pre-K to fifth grade, can develop academically, socially, and professionally.

School Counseling Program Goals

The school counseling program will focus on the following achievement, attendance, behavior
and/or school safety goals this year. Details of activities promoting these goals are found in the
curriculum, small-group and closing-the-gap action plans.
Program Goal Statements
Increase in Achievement Amongst DFI Students
Decline in Discipline Referrals
Decrease Referrals to Truancy Officer
Use of Time
I plan to spend the following percentage of my time delivering the components of the school
counseling program. All components are required for a comprehensive school counseling
program.

45% of time delivering guidance curriculum

25% of time with individual student planning
20% of time with responsive services
10% of time with system support
Advisory Council
The school counseling advisory council will meet on the following dates.
The meetings will take place on the first Monday of every other month. Time and place will be
determined later.

transition to middle school and provide parent perspective.
