Lesson Title: The letter R
LESSON OVERVIEW
The children will be working with the letter R
STANDARDS
Starts to develop an awareness of beginning sounds in words
V. Language and Literacy
V. Using letter names and sounds

ASSESSMENT/EVALUATION
Students will produce a unit plan by Nov. 1st. They will use the Team Format. The scope and sequence will be
Submitted first in the process allowing one week of contemplation and consideration for the inclusions of
Gardners multiple intelligence theory in each lesson along with Marzanos 9 techniques. Scaffolding will be
used to build a unit by asking for one lesson plan to be turned in checking for a checklist of
expectations to include in the unit.

People say if they have or if they know anyone with an R in their name and say if it is lower case

to show the other children and the children will repeat the word and they will learn things that
lay around there house in there everyday lives that begin with the letter R.

Remind the students that they need to bring something to show the class tomorrow and ask 2
kids if they can draw an upper case R and a lower case R up on the board.
