Have you ever known someone who is

deeply and genuinely happy? p.179

Personally no. Everyone that I know has

some form of sadness about them but that
doesnt stop them from trying to make
themselves and others happy. Those people
influence me to be a happier person.

You wouldnt guess she was a super happy

person from all that shes had to bear p.180

Personally I believe that even if youve had

some bad experiences in the past, one can
still find happiness in the present and future.

All of us can identify people who are exactly

the oppositethat is, people who never
seem to be happy, even during the good
times p. 181

I know from experience that there is more to

people than just what they seem like they
feel. Often people who seem the happiest are
the ones who have the worst depression and
people who seem depressed often can
actually be really happy with their lives and
just dont show it like most people.

No appropriate happiness thermometer

exists p. 184

I think that there honestly shouldnt be a

definite scale to determine how happy
someone is because its different for
everyone, and thats what makes us human

if only something about the

circumstances of our lives would change,

I dont agree with this part of the sentence

because all we really have to do to be happy

then we would be happy. p. 185

is change how we look at our situation. If we

look at it from a positive standpoint then were
happy.

This notionthat we are born happy or

unhappyis ubiquitous. p. 186

I totally agree with that statement. Just

because a person is unhappy for a certain
time in their life, doesnt mean they wont ever
find happiness. Theyll just have to keep
looking for what makes them happy.

It appears that each of us is born with a

happiness set point, a characteristic
potential for happiness throughout our lives.
p. 190

This supports my belief that everybody can

find happiness no matter what our situation is.
We are literally born with happiness until
people later on in our lives begin to show us
the ugly in the world

There might be a point to the topic that if I had more money Id be happier. Money can
let a person buy so many things that makes them happy. For example, if I was rich I could buy
so many fursuits, commissions and go to so many conventions AND BMX races that Id be
super happy because those are things that I really enjoy. Id also be able to have pets and a
fluffy companion to keep me company if I ever feel alone. Id also be able to go up and see my
boyfriend or send him down to visit as often as we possibly could. While money doesnt
necessarily buy happiness, it can allow someone to do everything and get everything that does
make them happy.
