Thesis Statement: Alcohol has many effects on a human body that people do not even
realize such as the inner body the outer body and can even be cancerous in certain areas.

Relatives and family members of the alcoholic, generally agreed on life concerns that
were drawbacks.There are many concerns a family has for an alcoholic. Also, many sacrifices a
family makes for the ones they loves health. For an example eating, sleeping, physical well
being. Also social problems like marriage/close relationships, fun/humour, and financial/business
issues. Close relatives also explained how the drinking impacted the family life, including
problems with neighbors, unreliability regarding family quality time, and costs for treatment and
other expenses.

Within a normal family everyone has a role. When one or both parents are alcoholics they
are center of attention. Leaving the family with deleterious consequences. Leading to
parentification. Parentification is the inappropriate and premature assumption of adult roles by
children or adolescents before they are emotionally or developmentally able to manage these

roles successfully is often the case where one or both parents are alcohol dependants. Older
children are taking on additional household responsibilities, like taking care of the younger
children.
