Sandra: Those carpooling with me to the TriChapter Social were, Gracie, Wanda, Nadyne
and Janis. We had great fun visiting with each
other.
Susan: missed the Tri-Chapter Social due to
a stress fracture in her foot. Wearing a lovely
new boot for a few days to give it time to heal.
Dolores: My husband and I went to New York
City. We had a great time seeing 3 Broadway
shows. We saw the Color Purple, On Your
Feet (the story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan),
and Beautiful (The Carole King Musical). The
shows were really great. We truly enjoyed
seeing New York and hope to make it back
there again soon.
Barbara: To clarify last months report-she
had surgery on her arm to repair an old injury.

Long story short: Allan and I went to Galveston for
2 nights just before New Year's. He became very
sick (could hardly walk) as we were checking out
of the Tremont. I took him to the emergency room
at John Sealy and he was there for 4 nights.
Diagnosis: ulcers. I had been staying with my
brother in Texas City and I (attempted) to take the
towels to the utility room. There is one step
between the game room and utility room and I
missed it! Black eye and my hand that had the
surgery blew up like a balloon. We went to get
Allan and headed to Wimberley. My brother and
sister-in-law drove us half way and my sister and
her husband met us in Columbus. It is (the eye)
looking better now -- saw my surgeon this

Bonus Books
Two books about strong women that are
informative and interesting:
1)Ten Degrees of Reckoning by Hester
Rumberg is about Judith Sleavin, who
survived when a freighter struck the family
sailboat off New Zealand. (You know in the
first few pages that she is the sole survivor,
but its not a sad book.)
2)Down the Nile: Alone in a Fishermans Skiff
by Rosemary Mahoney, who tells of her
experience trying to accomplish this adventure
in a male dominated society.(Most of the book
is her just trying to get a boat.)
