Dear Art Supporter,

Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world
unbearable, so said George Bernard Shaw, and he was right. Especially in todays
economic uncertainty, the pleasure we get from visual and performing arts is
immeasurable.
The Grand Strand area has been chosen to host the 39th annual meeting and juried
exhibition of the South Carolina Watermedia Society, presenting our residents a chance
to be part of a major art event. The SCWS activities will boost the local economy by
bringing local art supporters, artists, their family and friends as well as tourists from the
outside area.
The 30 award winning paintings chosen from the total exhibit and a catalog with color
reproductions will travel the state for a year under the direction of the SC State Art
Museum. The catalog will list the award donors, supporters and members of the
organization.
Please be a part of that list of underwriters!! Our focus this year is to teach art to the
youth and include in the museum during our exhibition some of the local youth art work.
We will have special thanks for our supporters in our catalog and website
www.scwatermedia.com. Any amount you want to contribute will enhance our
endeavors.

5000 catalogs are distributed to all artists in our organization, every tourist and
community member who comes to see the show and all 12 venues that host the
traveling show throughout the year. We also send these catalogs to colleges and
universities throughout the state as a teaching tool. Your business advertised in our
