My Hero
By Shrooq Alqulayti (Saudi Arabia)
My hero is prophet Muhammad (peace and
blessing be upon him). Prophet Muhammad is the
greatest person who has walked the earth. He is like
an angel. He was born in 570 CE in the city of
Mecca. He guided us to Islam. He protected mens,
womens and childrens rights. He taught us how to
coexist with Muslims and non-Muslims and practice
non-discrimination and justice. Also, he told us we
should help the needy, visit the sick, and love and
exchange advice between people. He prohibited
Muslims from killing innocent people and hurting their
neighbors, animals, and trees. In conclusion, he was
a faithful teacher, a good father, an outstanding
husband, a faithful friend, a strong believer, a social
and political reformer, and the best of friends. I love
him more than myself and any person in the world.
Goals
By Maria Castro Moran (Mexico)
I think in the life there are many goalslongterm and short-term goals. Never stop making goals
because this helps the feeling of happiness. A life
without goals in one routea route that kills the spirit.
Life is great and has many possibilities. The
important question is: what do I do to finish my
goals? Do them!
Many young people go through life lost
because they do not stop to think about what, how,
when, and where they will complete their goals. They
have options, but they do not have a hero to look to
and model. They do not talk with them.
Dear Mom
By Hala Baabdullah (Saudi Arabia)
Dear Mom, thank you for helping me in all my
life when I was with you. Thank you for listening to
me when I talked a lot to you. Thank you for teaching
me good manners and how to be a good girl. Thank
you for loving me. For example, I remember when I
married and came to the USA, you were so sad and
cried a lot. I am sorry for that. I remember when you
woke me to eat, study, and go with you. I miss these
days when I came home and saw you and my dad
and ate lunch with you. Thank you for everything you
do for me. I love you so much. Sincerely, from your
little daughter: Hala.

Eid Al-hajj is after Al-hajj. People visit Mecca
because Al-Hajj is there. After ten days, they
celebrate Eid. I pray at Al-Eid. After praying, I go
home to my family and kill a sheep. I give some of
the meat to my friends and my grandfather. We eat
meat at breakfast time. I give some children money
and sweets. The children buy new clothes and
dresses with their money. The people are very happy
at Eid. In conclusion, it is a beautiful day because
many people are very happy.
My Hero
By Mohammed Alghayhab
(Saudi Arabia)
My father is my hero because he lived a hard
life and, moreover, achieved success. My dads
father died when he was young. His older brothers
were brought up to be keen on education. After
graduation from high school, he stopped studying in
order to work. He was employed by the Saudi
Arabian Oil Company, but after one year, he had an
accident in the companys oil. My father was in the
hospital for four months. After he was discharged, he
decided to complete his education in Britain. He
studied business management and then returned to
Saudi Arabia. After five years, my father went to the
United States to earn a masters degree in politics
and international relations. Currently, he is the
Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture and
Information, and advisor at the royal court. In
conclusion, despite a difficult life, my father has
achieved the best. Thank you to my father for making
our lives better.

In life, I love my mother because she is the
one who gave birth to me. She always takes care of
me. She stayed awake all the time to make sure that
I am ok. She spent her energy to help me grow up.
When I was a child, she fed me all the time. My
mother gives me good advice and helps me get good
things from her lifes experience. She always gives
me the best of everything. Its the warmth of her love
and care that makes a wonderful difference in all my
days. Mom, you put a smile on my day, showering
me with your love and calling and listening to all. I
have to say, I lovey you my mother.

Trip to Atlanta
Zainab Alkhayat (Saudi Arabia)
First I love spring break because of the nice
weather. In Nashville it is not too hot and warm. Next,
the flowers are beautiful so spring is my favorite
season. During spring break I can relax and enjoy the
vacation. The people are very tired of school, work at
companies, and careers. This break I was sick and
felt bored for a short time.
After that I went to Atlanta with my husband
and a group of friends. My husband is Abdullah. I
went to Atlanta at 4:00 but the highway was very
busy and crowded. Then I drank some tea and ate
some snacks like nuts, fruit, and vegetables. I went to
the hotel in Atlanta with my luggage and was very
happy. I could see that Atlanta was big and amazing.
I saw the towers, but it was raining so I took my
umbrella. I walked downtown in Atlanta and to the
park at night. In the morning I went to Coca Cola and
we could taste different drinks. After that I went to the
Aquarium, and I saw dolphins. This was my favorite
part. They were very fast and funny. I ate dinner at an
Arabic restaurant it was amazing.
Finally, on the last day I went shopping and
ate breakfast. After that, I went to Nashville. I liked
my trip, and I used English on the trip. I think
traveling is a nice way to speak English.
A Good Friend
Abdalrhmaen Alhowiti (Saudi Arabia)
My good friend in my country is named Saad.
He is very respectable and generous. Saad is a
hardworker, so he loves volunteer work. He lives in
Tabuk city. Anyone who needs help can call Saad.
Every time Saad calls me he asks if I need any help. I
miss him because he is a good cook and makes
good Arabic coffee. He is also a good driver and
respectable. Saad has a big family, so he has five
brothers and four sisters. He has five children. Saad
gave me an iPhone 5s for my birthday. He is very
generous. He loves to help any person who needs
help.
Last week I called Saad and said I needed
help. He asked me what kind of help do you need. I
told him I needed money but I would pay him back
next month. He told me, No Problem. He sent me
$2,000.00. Saad is a good friend. All of my other
friends in my country say that Saad is a good friend.
He loves animals and fishing every summer. He has
two dogs and twelve camels. I love Saad very much
and I miss him. I hope he has a good life and he is a
good friend to many people.
My Job
Ali Alshwikh (Saudi Arabia)
It is nice to work in the area that you like
personally. I had a job and liked that job. I worked in
my home country, Saudi Arabia, in the eastern
region.
After I finished high school, I got my diploma
from General Motors after training for eighteen
months. I started working in 2009. I worked in the
General Motors Vehicles Company named Al jumdih.
I worked there for five years. It was a good job for me
because I was fixing any damage that happened to
any gasoline-powered vehicle. I was a mechanical
technician there. I had many friends and loved
working and spending time with them. I worked five
days a week, from Sunday to Thursday. My daily
schedule was 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It was a great
job and the company paid me a good salary.
I hope I get as good a job or better in the

Anger
Afnan Aljarallah (Saudi Arabia)
Some people feel angry for simple reasons; some people feel angry for special reasons. There
are many reasons that may change your life for ever if you get angry. It can make you lose your friends
and a affect on your good manners.
Anger can make you lose your friends. If you get angry with your friends many times, you might
lose one of them by screaming at them or not respect them. Also, some times your pest friends may
forgive you, but you should take care of them and explain what you want, what is the bad thing you dont
want, or what is bothering you. For example, my best friend has always gotten angry for simple reasons.
However, she some time doesnt listen to my advice. After that, we have an argument. Then we dont talk
and see each other for two months.
The anger is not good for your manners. First, you will lose control, so you will say bad words.
When you say bad words, people will think bad things a bout you. After that, maybe it will affect your job.
If your job requires you to be patience, you should bear the difficulties of your job.
In conclusion, anger may make you lose your friends and affect on your good manners. In my
opinion, relax and don't think a lot of simple things. Additionally, you have to just do your work with out
any stress because it's good for you to be happy in your life.

Peace
Mashael Alsubaie (Saudi Arabia)
Mahatma Gandhi said, Each one has to find his peace from
within. And peace to be real must be unaffected by outside
circumstances. Peace is one of many important things in our lives, and
it can be defined in three ways: peace with yourself, peace in your
relationships, and peace in country.
First, being at peace with your self is definition of peace. Sometimes we have many choice to
choose one of them, and we decide what we want. This time it make us nervous, and under stress. But
when we decide, we of course feel peace within. For example, when someone graduated from high
school, and she beginning at university , she having to choose a major. In this time she being worried for
her chosen, when she decided her major, she be at peace.
Secondly, we all have relationships. In these relationships, We have many arguments, and
problems. In the middle all these problems, we dont feel peace. However, when we repair these
problems, we feel peace. For example, when two people want a divorce, they feel sad because, they
cant live together. When they divorce, they feel peace because each one can life how she wants.
Third, every one feels love for their country, so we like to live in country without something bad.
When some countries have war, the citizens feel fear and sadness until end of the war. After that, the
citizens feel peace within themselves, and their country.
In conclusion, when we wake up in the morning, and we feel great, When we have a relation ship
without problem, When we walk around our city, and feel save, We can define that as peace. Being at
13
peace with your self, being at peace with a relation ship, and being at peace with our country, They are
important ways to describe what peace means.
Generations
Michelle Wang
It is so miraculous when people have their own children in life. Two or three generations can get
more happiness than a single generation in lifetime. However, every generation has their characteristics
and individuality. There are several similarities and differences between grand parents and children.
There are many similarities between grand parents and children. They have the same idea about
family---Love. Like grandparents love parents, parent love children and children also love grandparents
and parents too. They love every person in the family and always help to each other. Likewise, the other
same idea is teach us how to be a good person. For example, grandparents taught parents to be honest
and brave, working hard to study in school when they are young. Parents also to teach children the same
things. This is a perfect way to grow up to be a good person, and it is benefit of human development.
There are also differences between grandparents and children. Most grandparents go to sheep
early, but children always sleep late. On the other hand, grandparents never use a computer, children
like to use all technology, like Ipad. Additionally, grandparents like to save money by cooking at home,
but children prefer to go out have lunch or dinner or traveling on the vacation. It is a different custom of
each generation.
The similarities and differences such as same ideas and different habits between grandparents and
children are numerous. They are changing so fast with the human culture and peoples thought.
However, it doesnt matter what are differences between different generations because they are a family
and love each other forever.

Anger
Rawan Nahas (Saudi Arabia)
For all of these reasons, angry people need help to live as normal people. They must get rid of their
bad attitude, and they should learn how to control
themselves to keep from losing work. Anger has
become a common problem these days because of the
stress and the struggle that people are facing. We have
to control ourselves, try to avoid anger, and try to avoid
leads to it before it destroys us.
Theater or Home
Waad Alfadhil (Saudi Arabia)
Today, there are too many conflicts going on in the world, it is destroying the
lives of many people. Most of the conflicts started from personal reasons because
they cant solve problems in peace. That is why peace is very important. Peace can
be defined in three ways: non violence, harmony and quietness.
Non violence is when people do not use violence in any circumstances. That means if you have a
conflict with another person, lets discuss together to find out a solution. Never use violence against
anyone in any situation. This creates peace.
Harmony means living with people kindly. Be nice to everyone around, and everyone will also be
nice to you. Always try to become a trusted person and live in harmony with others. Harmony is a way to
make peace.
16
Quiet people always keep peace in mind. Quiet does not mean silence; it means calm. Keep calm
from disturbance, or interruption by others. A person who keeps calm inside will avoid unnecessary
troubles and will have a better life.
As you can see, using non violence, keeping quiet in mind and living in harmony makes people
avoid conflicts, so the world will no longer be violence. And that is the peace for our lives

What does dance mean? Well, there is not a specific meaning for dance. Each person can
have a different meaning. People dont like to dance; other people dance just for fun, but for me dance is
the best way to feel like myself. Dance fills me with happines.
When i have problems or when my heart is sad i just dance until i get tired. So many years ago a
phicologie find that the fisic activitie and sports practices give us a lot of beneficie to our bod (Anna
Gimeno.) Dance can help you in different ways. It helps you to forget your problems, to feel peace in
your heart and feel like yourself. First, when you are dancing your mind and your boby get so happy that
you get lost in the music and that makes you forget about your problems. Im not saying dance will solve
your problems, but it can help you forget about them for a moment. For example, 3 years ago i had a big
problem in highshcool with my best friend. I still remember that day, i went home, to my room, i turned
the music laud and i danced for two hours. I forget my problem for that moment and that alsp helped me
to think better about the problem. Second, some people dont have peace in their hearts. Maybe it is
because they cant find it. Somentimes we try to find peace in the place and is not about the pleace, is
about you, you need to find peace inside of you, in your heart. Dance can bring you peace in your heart.
When you dance you just fallow themusic and you feel free. It doest matter the kind of music, you just
need to dance what you like and the peace will come to you. When you love what you do, you will always
find peace in your heart. (Paulo Coelho.) Thirt, Its hard to talk about ourself because not everybody acts
like themselves, some people dont act like themselves because they care about what people think so,
they prefer to be what other people said and not what they feel. Dance is a creative way to express and
conect with ourself, what we have inside. (Anna Gimeno.) There are other people that pretend to be a
person that they are not, that is the reason that they never find theirself. When i dance is the best way to
feel myself, im very outgoing and sometimes the day is not enough to take out my energy so i just come
home and dance. Also dancing i can do wherever i want to and nobody will tell me hoe to dance. Some
people dance in their room because they dont want anybody to look at them. Other people dance in the
shower because
it is the way to
feel like
themselves but i
dance
everywhere i go
because i dont
care what
people think and
i will be myself
wherever i go
dont matter
what. Martha
Graham a
famoce dancer

cares if you
cant dance
well. Just get up
and dance.
Great dancer

WRITING SIX
Privilege in the US
By Mohammad Alajmi (Saudi Arabia)
In life we have our privileges in one way or another. Nonetheless, in the United States
many people have different privileges which set them apart. Those privileges are many; the
most popular are the following: color, religion and lifestyle choices.
First of all, many people have suffered from racial issues because of their skin
color. For instance, back in late 2014 or 2015 many have gotten enraged because of police
officer brutality in Baltimore. An officer killed a black man for a less serious cause or offence.
Had Freddie Gray not suffered grave injuries and then death, many riots and strikes would
not have taken place against police judgment. Therefore, you shouldnt act or feel superior
based on your race or color.
Also, most Americans have religious beliefs. While there are also many people who
have many religious beliefs, the majority is Christian and that means most citizens have
tolerance toward Christianity. That means they may not follow or consider other religious
beliefs. Therefore, if you are Christian and American as well, you have certain kinds of trust
and privilege that no one else has.
In addition, in America, lifestyle choices have its own weight by trivial factors such
19
as clothes and vacation destinations and even cars! This is because some people have the
privilege to spend their vacation in DC and Virginia while others go to Las Vegas and Los
Angeles. In the meantime, a lot of people plan their vacation by wandering around their
home state. What does that indicate?! It tells a little story about the capability of the majority
of American people while they are living in the States. Also, many people can afford North
Face brand while others go to Ross. Moreover, this can be a huge factor in deciding peoples
personality and ethics. Many people care about the car too much to the extent that they buy
the most expensive model. Conversely, others consider the car a mere way or medium for
transportation.
In summary, the privileges in the US may differ from one person to another. However,
the major privileges are three as the following: race or certain family background that may
seem far superior than others, religion with deference to Christianity, and lifestyle choices
which means differences in life standards among people. Therefore, the privileges can vary
from one person to another.
Some people think the best leader forces people to focus on their goal. That
leader gets authority from peoples fear. Its a good way to control the group. However,
in my opinion, it is the best method to lead by a person who is loved by their group. The
reason is that the leader who is feared interferes with peoples free thinking. Also, people
dont follow the leader who gives them fear.
First of all, people need the leader when they achieve a certain goal together. Its
a goal that makes people better or gives them success. People have a lot of thinking
about reaching their goal. The leader can help people create their thinking or ideas more
clearly. The leader who is loved makes the groups atmosphere comfortable, so its
helpful for people to create their idea. However, the leader who is feared forces people
to only think about their goal. People usually dont make a good idea when they have
pressure from someone. Therefore, in terms of the groups view, its better to have the
leader who receives love from people.
On top of that, people dont follow the leader who is feared. People have different
ways of thinking or opinions and they really want to convey their ideas freely. The leader
who is feared disturbs peoples explanations of their ideas, because people usually fear
a person who tries to control them. Since the leader plays an important role to express
peoples ideas, its a big problem if people dont want to follow the leader. If people dont
follow the leader, the group doesnt attain their aim. Thats why the group needs the
leader to get their purpose.
In summary, the leader who is loved makes people achieve their aim to help
people think more freely and get together for achieving their purpose. Therefore, I think
the leader who is loved is better than the leader who is feared.
