EIP: Part 1- Proposal
My issue/topic is social media and social networking. How corrupting is social
media, and does social networking corruptive as well? What is social media and social
networkings influence on society? How is social media and social networking related?
Whom does this these two terms mainly affect?
I choose this subject because social media and social networking is very prevalent
in society today. Those two terms has the ability to make people view and target certain
perspectives. This topic is compelling because it allows me to see if and how many
different influences there are in society. It also compels me to want to know if people are
opened mind enough to know if there are being influenced.
There are many things I already know about social media and social networking.
The first thing I would like to express about the subjects is that it is corrupted. The way it
is corrupted is that the social media and social networking distracts you from reality, and
whatever is displayed on websites can be biased. You only see what you want to see
while on social media. Sometimes The you cannot see or inform yourself on the really
important things that are going on in the world. Social media and social networking can
report important news that is going on in the world, but the information that is presented
can be dissected, and people pick out what they want from the news and create something
that is different than what youre being informed about. I know that many people are

getting different perspectives from social media and social networking, and I would just
like to know what those perspectives theyre getting are.
As I stated before I want to know the different perspectives that
people are getting from social media and social networking. I also want
to learn the many different contributions these two terms have toward
people. Another thing I want to learn who essentially is the target
group of the social media and social networking; although, the
targeted group in theory is everyone but who actually takes in
consideration of what information people are really trying to report.

I hope to find the answers I seek in the library databases. I hope to
find them there because I know without a doubt that they are

creditable. If that does not work I hope to find answers from websites
that end in .gov, .org, .edu, and etc. The question I believe will be
difficult to find is how social media and social networking will look in
ten years.
I will narrow my research to a certain influences social media has if
my initial research is too numerous.
I will broaden my subject to open up more research findings by
findings out the different technologies that help to get social media
and social networking, and the certain perspectives and contributions
that its created across the United States.
My target audience might be people who are not closed minded
enough to know that social media and social networking is influential in
both negative and positive ways. I think everyone is in some way or
form affected by social media and social networking. People should
care about social media and social networking because they are in
constant contact with technology, which is an outlet to many social
media sites and social networking. Social media and social networking
are important because they have negative impacts on people who are
ignorant enough to not look up on the information being reported.
The question I have for the reader is do they think that my topic is
interesting enough to actually read about. I believe that to the best of
my ability that every part of my proposal is adequately address. My
most concerned part about my proposal is the reader understanding

exactly what I mean in the questions I ask and how I could make social
media and social networking a broader subject to research. I think my
topic is on the side of being too big to handle verses too limited. I
believe all of the places of my proposal feel right. I am not sure of how
to answer this question but I think that my explanations in my writing
are done well.
