The first day of the 4 lesson mini unit will consist of a short lecture outlining the day and the importance of
setting goals, planning for life after graduation, etc., followed by an interest inventory. Students will then use
the findings on the interest inventory to dig deeper and research different career fields and specific career
paths. Students will be required to turn in their research notes showing everything they found out about the
career(s) they looked at, including but not limited to: salary, requirements, education needed, a day in the life,
other benefits, work schedule, retirement, projections for future, etc.

of education and their adeptness at navigating online resources about it will be evident by their filling out of a
short exit ticket which asks them to describe what overall lessons they learned (not career specific) in todays
class, rank and describe the degree to and reasons by which they believe todays lesson will help them prepare
for life after high school, careers in general, their specific goals, and the abilities to discern interests/passions
and set goals.
