My mentor teacher and I
worked together on my
professional experience
III to organise her term
planning.

By planning learning
sequences and overviews
it enabled me to structure
and organise upcoming
content and teaching
strategies within
Mathematics for the four
weeks of my professional
experience (APST: 2.1,
2.2).

Organise content into an
effective learning and
teaching sequence.

By doing this we were


able to view content and
plan for the term. We
were also able to
acknowledge strategies
for differentiating our
teaching to meet the
needs of our diverse
classroom.

The goal for my professional


experience was to develop
understandings and further my
knowledge of curriculum, assessment
and reporting. I wanted to learn how
teachers effectively structure and
organise their teaching in order for a
successful teaching and learning year.
I requested from my mentor teacher
that if possible I could observe (and
help) interviews, meetings and
planning.

Use curriculum, assessment
and reporting knowledge to
design learning sequences
and lesson plans.

The term planning was for


Mathematics. During meetings and
planning sessions my mentor teacher
explained the process of the overview
how what the benefits of doing it were.
The overview was organised into an
effective plan which could easily be
viewed and accessed.

Understanding the
curriculum, assessment
and reporting to design
and plan professional unit
sequences (APST: 2.3).
By organising and
structuring the curriculum,
assessment and content
early I was able to
determine strategies for
differentiating my teaching
to meet the learning needs
of the students (APST: 2.2,
1.5).
