1-What was/were the learning objectives/outcomes of the lesson? (Add state objectives if known, for
example, TEKS 111.4. Grade 2.b.)
No state objectives.
2-How did the teacher begin and end the lesson?
She started with a demonstration and itss instruction. She end the class with review and a quiz.
3-What did the teacher use for teaching materials or instructional aids/equipment?
Clearly establish the lesson objective. Be certain of what is to be communicated. Gather the necessary
data by researching for support material. Organize the material into an outline or a lesson plan. The plan
should include all key points that need to be covered. This may include important safety considerations.
4-Which instructional methods and strategies did the teacher use? (Lecture, inquiry, discovery
learning, discussions, games or simulations, demonstrations, cooperative learning, integration of
technology, socrative questioning, etc)
She used a discussion and demonstration strategies.
5-How did the teacher assess learning? (informal, formal, formative, summative, oral, open-ended,
quiz, feedback etc) See Chapter 8 for more information on assessment methods
She used a quiz to asses learning.
6- What can you say about the teachers philosophy/beliefs and style? (Traditional/progressive,
behaviorist, student-centered vs. teacher centered, authoritative etc)
She followed student centered style. She just explained the instruction of the demonstration and students
completed it themselves.
7-How does the teacher manage classroom? Can you identify classroom management techniques
used?
It was a small class just 6 students because of that the management was so easy. She used participation
method for classroom management. She explained some interesting daily question to engage students.

8-Observe in the classroom setting and determine types of behavior students play when off-task.
What do they do when they are not paying attention? How does the teacher re-direct them or get
them back on task?
She asked some question randomly and students got back on tesk.
9-How does the teacher communicate with students (verbal, vocal, meta-verbal or non-verbal
communication such as facial, body language, use of space, motion and time?)
Her communication was verbally with students because the class was experimental subject. Students and
teacher always talked about the experiment.
10-Who were the students in the class? What did you notice about them? (Background, diversity,
attitude, motivation, interaction, participation, etc)
They were motivated and interacted students because the course was elective. Students were already
picked the course according to their interesting and majors.
11-What did you see that is effective in engaging students? What do you see that is ineffective in
keeping students engaged?
The demonstration was so interesting because of that all students was engaged. I didnt see any ineffective
things.
12-What are the two instructional strategies you observed and would like to apply in your
classroom?
She followed cooperative learning strategies. Students were in small heterogeneous groups took some
roles and learn to share knowledge and tasks with one another through a variety of structures with this
strategy.
The second one was Discovery/Inquiry-based learning. Basically, it was a specific learning processes
that students engaged in during inquiry include: developing questions, seeking evidence to answer
questions, explaining evidence, and justifying or laying out an argument for the evidence.
13-What are two important classroom management strategies that you observed and would like to
apply in your classroom?
It was so easy classroom management because there were 6 students in the class. The students were
already engaged and interested about the course. I havent see any important classroom strategies to apply
in my classroom.
