Subject(s): Chapter 9 vocabulary, Saber/conocer, Pobre Ana
Standards:
1.2.2 Comprehending Written Language Demonstrate reading comprehension
by identifying familiar vocabulary from basic informational texts.

1.2.3 Strategies for Comprehending Oral and Written Languages Use

guesses about meaning. Recognize alphabets, sounds, and symbols of the target

Objectives: Objectives should be concrete and specific *ALL IN THE TARGET


LANGUAGE
The students will be able to use circumlocution in order to describe a vocabulary
word.
The students will be able to recognize cognates and familiar phrases to help with
their understanding of Pobre Ana Chapter 9.
Overview:
The students will immediately walk into the classroom and read the agenda and
learning target goals for the day. Then, the students will get out their computers and login
to the Kahoot in order to review over the verbs saber and conocer. Afterwards, they will
work on the two eStudio activities over saber/conocer and vocabulary. The students will
finish these activities and close their computers. Once they are finished, the teacher will
hand out the vocabulary dice game activity. Each pair of students will need a pair of di
also and they have a specific list of activities depending on the numbers they roll. They
have to complete the activities and the other partner has to figure out which vocab word
they are acting out, drawing, talking about etc. Towards the end of class the students will
get out their Pobre Ana books and pair read chapter 9 with one another switching off
every other paragraph. The teacher will remind them to continue working on their
character maps, and that they need to study for the quiz tomorrow over saber/conocer,
DOPs, and vocabulary. They can study using ALL their notes and reviewing the
vocabulary on Quizlet.

Activities/Procedures:
Activity/Warm-up/Review: The students will immediately walk into the
classroom and read the agenda and learning target goals for the day. The students
will also get out their computers right away in order to complete a review over
saber and conocer with Kahoot

Activity#1: The students will then continue to eStudio in order to complete:


o Captulo 9> eWorkbook>Gramtica2> Act. A (Saber/Conocer)
o Captulo 9> eWorkbook>Vocabulario2> Act. C (Vocabulary)

Activity#2: The teacher will hand out the vocabulary dice game that the students
will have to complete together in pairs.

Activity#3: The students will pair read Chapter 9 of Pobre Ana.

Wrap-up/Closure: The students will be reminded to study for the quiz over
saber/conocer, DOPs, and vocabulary tomorrow.
