thatperson.Someexamplesofascribedstatusesaregender,age,eye,hair,andskincolors,race
andethnicity.Almostalloftheascribedstatusesareimpossibletochange,yetwecanchangethe
limitationsconnectedwiththem.Theachievedstatusesaretheoppositesofascribedstatuses,in
whichtheyarenotchosenorassignedtoaperson,butareobtainedforsomethingheorshehave
done,basedonhis/herabilities,choicesandefforts.Examplesofachievedstatusesincluded
student,father,teacher,Olympicathlete,criminals,etc.Theseascribedandachievedstatusesare
positionsthatindividualsoccupythroughouttheirlifetime.
