Kindy, Kimberly. Fatal police shootings in 2015 approaching 400 nationwide. The Washington

This article shows statistics of how many people were killed by police in the first
half of 2015. Kimberly Kindy is a national investigative reporter at The Washington Post.
Being the writer of this article she has given real life accounts of incidences from the
people that were involved. Since our bill involves all incidences being reported regardless
of an officer in the line of duty being shot or a civilian being shot in a police altercation,
this article will be helpful in information regarding the civilian casualtys aspect of our
paper.

Dr. Bill Lewinski of the Force Science Institute has provided his expertise to the
"Police: The Law Enforcement Magazine Podcast". Lewinski explains high-stress
decision making, engaging a suspect with rapport, and the importance of time as a factor
in an officer's ability to react to complex situations. Although this source is older, we like

the some of the quotes from Lewinski. He has proved to be quite the reliable source for
us and we will be using his quotes throughout our paper.

This article shows how many police officers died in 2014 and the statistics of
these incidents. In total, 126 officers were killed in 2014. That's a 24 percent increase from
2013, when 102 officers were killed. This website is going to be extremely helpful when
collecting research for our bill. This is a short article but it provides the facts we need for our
project.

This source is our scholarly journal. The journals main focus is to promote
awareness about police shootings. It talks about how many law enforcement officers are
seen as trigger happy and it includes facts and articles to rebuke that statement.

This source concerns the interview held by Caroline King and the interviewee,
Ana Rodriguez, the Legislator Director. Caroline was trying to set up an interview with
Rep. Eric Johnson concerning bill H.B.1036 and was not successful in speaking with
him. Instead, she was fortunate to attain some information from Ana Rodriguez which
will help to deepen the research on officer involved shootings. This interview supplied
valuable answers concerning bill H.B.1036 and helped all involved with the bill research
to comprehend the problems in transparency that were occurring in the reporting system
of local and federal agencies.

carry policies and incidences. It contains helpful information regarding gun control and
we believe it will especially insightful since the laws have recently changed in Texas.
This site does not include information about the police force or police involved civilian
casualties, however, these facts about shootings and statistical information regarding
weapons used and the myths behind these incidences will be helpful.
