Which video did you find to be the most interesting?
Explain why in detail citing
information from the video. I found the first video, ISIS or Taliban: Which is the Greater Threat?, the most interesting. This is because I always assumed that ISIS was the more deadlier group, and the Taliban was not killing as many people. However, after watching this video I saw the opposite. The number of deaths the Taliban has caused, is nearly 2000 a month, compared to roughly 200 by ISIS. Also, I found it interesting that ISIS has about fifteen people working media for every Islamic state providence. This is said to make them the worse terrorist group, since it is compared to the single media arm the Taliban has. However, when you look at the numbers, ISIS still has 20-30,000 fighters. It is not as many as the Taliban, which is around 60,000, but it is a large number of people who are willing to take their lives and kill others. When you look at the bigger picture, the Taliban is a regional threat that one day may try to run an Islamic world, while ISIS is a global threat. Each group is a threat in different countries of the world. Which video did you find to be the most troubling? Again, explain why in detail citing info from the video. I found the second video, Why are Hindus Attacking Muslim in India, most troubling. This is because, the Hindus are attacking the Muslims for unnecessary reasons. One reason was because a man had supposedly eaten beef, since there was no actual proof of this transgression. This attack happened in a majority Hindu neighborhood. Hindus are not known to start violence, however in India there has been many incidents. Their clashes are said to not have started from pure ideology, but from history. This is from the partitioning of India, when Muslims went to Pakistan and Hindus stayed in India. Today, more Muslims are coming in India, but they are still the minority. Hindus are not happy with this, but this provoked violence is not something they usually do. I find it troubling that they are leading these clashes, when the Muslims have no really transgressions within the country. The prime minister of India is still Hindu, and there is a Hindu majority. Violence is not going to settle the matter, but make it worse. Which video should I should show next year in class? Again, explain why citing info from the video. I think that you should show the third video next year in class, How the Taliban Survived the War on Terror. I think this, because it shows how the Taliban came into power in Afghanistan, then how they lost it, and eventually how they got it back. This all started in 1996, when they first came into power. They ruled with human trafficking, brutality towards women, and massacre of civilians. This lasted until the US invaded in 2001, which caused many of the Taliban leaders to go into hiding in Pakistan. They eventually started using violence again, and they targeted Afghan citizens, accounting for more than three-quarters of civilian deaths. Even though the Taliban was doing this, they were still gaining followers and influence. The Taliban was able to renter a number of cities, after everything they did previously to the civilians. They were able to get their power back, and once their long-time leader died, they were possibly considering peace talks. These peace talks were to remove foreign-forces from Afghanistan. This video shows the Taliban over time, and how they started and where they are now.
