Theobservationswemadeforthefirstpartofthelabwasbeforewestartedtheexperiment,the
waterwasclearandweaddedthesaltin.Observationswemadeaftertheexperimentwasthe
clearwaterinthesecondflaskcontainednosalt,therewassaltleftoverinoneofthedishes,and
thewaterinbothflasksremainedclear.Thiscouldhaveaffectedtheexperimentbecauseifwe
losttrackofwhichflaskwaswhich,thenthewaterwouldhaveremainedthesame.The

observationswemadeforthesecondpartoftheexperimentwasbeforewestartedthe
experimentwasitwasalightbrowncoloranditcontainedfecalcoliform.Theobservationswe
madeaftertheexperimentwasthewaterinthesecondflaskwasclear,itcontainednofecal
coliform,andthewaterdidn'thaveasmelltoitwherethepollutedwaterdid.Thiscouldhave
affectedtheexperimentbecauseifthefreshwatercontainedanyamountoffecalcoliform,then
everyoneelse'swaterwouldbecontaminated.
