Early Detection is the Best Protection
Breast cancer is more common than people think. One in every eight women are
diagnosed and one in thirty six of those diagnosed die each year. This cancer is not more
relevant in a certain race or ethnicity; anyone can get it. It is important that women know how to
lessen their chances of getting breast cancer because women are more vulnerable to the illness.
Early breast cancer detection can prevent the severity of the cancer, shorten the time span of the
treatment, and decrease the fatality rate.
The severity of breast cancer can sometimes be a matter of life or death. According to
research, Early detection is always the best way to avoid later suffering and serious consequences
(Early Detection Helps Fight Cancer). The lack of awareness and support to start having
mammograms and check-ups early on are the root causes to the severity of the cancer in most
women. Specialist say, Breast cancer is a curable disease provided that it is detected and treated
early (Early Detection Helps Fight Cancer). Without early detection women are more
vulnerable to the cancer and have a higher chance of the cancer spreading thus becoming worse.
Age is also another big factor concerning the severity of breast cancer. Diagnosing breast cancer
in younger women is more difficult because their breast tissue is generally thicker than the breast
tissue in older women. Younger women generally do not consider themselves to be at risk for
breast cancer. This can cause the cancer to form and spread unknowingly. However this cancer

can strike at any age, and all women should be aware of their personal risk factors for breast
cancer.
By detecting breast cancer early and preventing it from getting worse the treatment time
decreases. Anozie states, Women must keep to their medicine, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy
to reduce the time span of treatment (Early Detection Is Key To Surviving Breast Cancer).
Catching breast cancer early means that the treatment process is not as long and gruesome. With
a smaller amount to handle the treatment can work faster. While the treatment works less it will
have patience recovering and cured way before those women who find breast cancer when it has
had time to develop and spread.
One in every thirty six women who are diagnosed with breast cancer die from this
horrible illness. Early detection has been proven to knock down the fatality rate by thirty percent
(The Best Cure For Breast Cancer: Mammograms). By making all women aware of the
different types of breast cancer and how each one can affect them it boost the number of women
who start checking earlier in life. Early detection catches breast cancer when it is small and has
not spread yet. By catching the cancer while it is small the treatment is more likely work and
help fight all of the cancer. This will allow more women to survive and decrease the fatality rate.
Early breast cancer detection can prevent the severity of the cancer, shorten the time span
of the treatment, and decrease the fatality rate. The lack of awareness and support to have annual
mammograms and check-ups is a main cause to the severity of the cancer in many women. If the
severity of the cancer grows then the time span of the treatment becomes longer. While the
severity grows and the treatment time span increases the fatality rate is sure to increase and more
women will die from this deadly illness. Early detection has grown and is the key to womens
survival.
