Short Reflection on Book

This book was invaluable to me as a pre-service teacher. It had many thinking routines
that I want to implement in my future classroom. I plan to use some of these thinking routines
within my unit as well. Think-pair-share is one of the routines I was familiar with prior to
reading this book. I will be using this routine within my unit because it is a great way to have
students collaborate and share their thinking with one another. Another Making Thinking Visible
routine I plan to use is See-Think-Wonder. I will use this in my unit when I have students
analyze different images from the roaring 20s and The Great Depression. See-Think-Wonder
promotes curiosity and leads students to asking higher level type questions. Last, I will be using
the Generate, Sort, Connect, and Elaborate routine within my unit. I think this is a great
assessment to measure what students learned about a particular topic or concept.
