Teachers can use analog whiteboard tools (like colored markers) as well as
text and the mobile devices camera and photo gallery to create
presentations and share the video.
Multiple backgrounds (white paper, lined paper, graph paper, coordinate grid)
lend the application to diverse disciplines.
The ability to add text to presentations makes the application friendly to
accessibility standards.
Teachers can create classes and share lessons only to that class. If the
teacher has paid for the Pro Edition (see Constraints), the students in that
class also share use of the Pro level application.
Teachers and students may share their lessons with other users on the site.
Likewise, teachers and students may access shared lessons.
Constraints
The interface has a steep learning curve. There is no tutorial to walk a user
through a sample project creation.
While the free version allows users to save videos and share with the
community, the teacher must acquire the Pro Edition ($11.99/month or
$99.99/year) to export videos.
Free users are limited to saving one draft. To save unlimited drafts, teachers
must upgrade to the Pro Edition.
User must upgrade to the Pro Edition to unlock functionality that supports the
inclusion of documents, maps, webpages, and presentation files.
There is no editorial quality control on lessons shared from other teachers. A
caveat emptor approach must be deployed if shared lessons are
considered.
