Instruct each table to select a team captain and a team name

Explain the concept of the quiz. Most of the questions relate to current topics investigated over the
last week as well as general knowledge questions.
Remind the students to try and recall the key facts and rules and comprehension strategies used in
the last week.
Finally explain to the students that the quicker you choose the correct answer the more points the
group will get.

Consolidation, practice, extension
Begin the Quiz.

Post-lesson review and evaluation:


Student achievement:
Students actively engaged with the quiz and all groups answered well over half of the questions
correctly. Students responded really well to the activity that they want to make their own. The quiz
linked well with comprehending and synthesising activities as well as mathematical concepts and
historical knowledge leant over the past week and term.
Teaching effectiveness:
Was a really good use of ICT, students really loved the concept as did Julie. I thought there was a good
range of questions and this was highlighted by the fact that the lowest scoring group still managed to
answer 18 of the 30 questions correctly. Maybe next time randomly select the groups to even up the
teams a tad.
