electronic access is the starting point
of Digital Citizenship. Digital
exclusion makes it difficult to grow
as a society increasingly using these

remains to be done.

DGITAL ETIQUETTE

conduct or procedure.
Technology users often
see this area as one of
the most pressing
problems when dealing
with Digital Citizenship.

technology within a society.

use manifests itself in the form of
abiding by the laws of society

DIGITAL RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

everyone in a digital world.
Just as in the American
Constitution where there is
a Bill of Rights, there is a
basic set of rights extended
to every digital citizen.

world. Eye safety, repetitive
stress syndrome, and sound
ergonomic practices are issues
that need to be addressed in a
new technological world

to guarantee safety. In
any society, there are
individuals who steal,
deface, or disrupt other
people.

FIVE FLUENCIES

Information fluency. Is the ability to critically think while engaging with, creating, and utilizing information and
technology regardless of format or platform. Specifically, an information fluent individual is able to recognize the
need for information.
Solution Fluency. Solution Fluency is the ability to think creatively to solve problems in real time by clearly defining
the problem, designing an appropriate solution, delivering the solution, and then evaluating the process and the
outcome.
Creativity Fluency. Creativity fluency how artistic proficiency adds meaning through design, art, and storytelling.

Media Fluency. In our multimedia world, communication has moved far beyond the realm of text. Our visual
learning capacity needs stimulation with rich media from a variety of different sources.

Collaboration Fluency. More and more, working, playing, and learning in todays digital world involves working with
others

HOW DOES THE DIGITAL DIVIDE IMPACT ON SOCIAL CAPITAL

The digital divide is not just about having access to the internet and
technology; it is about how people utilize it. The digital divide is about
having access to construct social capital while obtaining the available
universal knowledge. Examples of digital divide included technological
literacy, quality of technology, and access. digital access can facilitate
reading skills, employment opportunities, orchestrate creativity, access
to college, and increase overall youth vitality. Without digital access
things becomes a bit difficult because an individual can not easily gain
knowledge and that makes the society not to develop.
