To Whom It May Concern,
I am pleased to present my resume to you for consideration as an
Elementary Teacher. I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies
at California State University, Bakersfield. Im currently working on my
Masters Degree in Educational Technology and a Multiple Subject Credential
at National University. I have completed all of my Masters courses and am
currently completing my student teaching.
I have 5 years of experience working with elementary students. I have
worked with a diverse population of students throughout those 5 years.
Before attending CSUB, I worked at NEW Academy Canoga Park as a program
worker for the LAs Best After-School program. I got my passion for working
with children while I was the sports coach for two years and led their flag
football team to their first ever district wide championship. I also led the
science program and participated in the LAs Best Science Fair. While
attending California State University, Bakersfield, I worked at Valley
Achievement Center, a center for children and adults affected by the Autism
Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. I also had the
opportunity to work for CSUBs Mini-Corps program. I was a Migrant Student
Tutor at Mt. Vernon Elementary, a local elementary school. Upon graduating,
I began working as a Special Education Assistant for LAUSD. I worked there
for about 6 months and then found my way back to NEW Academy Canoga
Park, where I was offered a Teaching Position as a 2nd grade Summer school
teacher. This led to a 2nd grade long-term substitute position that lasted the
entire 2014-2015 school year. I was then offered another opportunity at NEW
Academy Canoga Park, as a long-term substitute teacher in a Kindergarten
classroom. While working at NACP, I was fortunate enough to have been
included in all of the professional developments that were offered to the
credentialed staff. I was even chosen to attend the CUE 2015 National
Technology Conference with the NACP Technology Leadership Team. I was
also given the opportunity to attend the 2015 ITeach2nd National Conference
for 2nd Grade Teachers. I was responsible for all lesson planning,
assessments, grading, and grade level collaboration throughout my time as a
long-term substitute teacher.

One of my greatest strengths is inspiring and motivating students. I

enthusiastically engage their eager minds with a variety of manipulatives,
enjoyable activities, and cooperative learning projects. With this teaching
philosophy, I am capable of reaching out to meet the needs of every
classrooms diverse interests and needs. Open communication and
participation throughout the educational process is fundamental in the
success of every student. With the cooperation of school and home, a child is
given a better opportunity to become successful as a life-long learner.
As my resume will demonstrate, my experience has been geared
toward the empowerment of young learners. As a teacher, I hope to motivate
students in ascertaining their inner strengths and abilities and discovering
what truly inspires them. I aim to provide a stimulating learning environment
that encourages students to formulate and trust their own opinions/ideas,
while fostering confidence in order for students to realize their full potential.
I look forward with great anticipation to discussing with you the many
ways in which I can make a significant contribution to your educational
program. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Andrew Lopez
