Ask Questions to
understand students
current knowledge of
subject.
If students are having trouble looking for benefits of exercise, teacher can help
them hint some ideas below.
1.) Exercise Boosts Brainpower
2.) Movement Melts Away Stress
3.) Exercise Gives You Energy
4.) Can Help Build Relationships
5.) Helps Ward Off Disease

-Once students finish sharing the benefits, then on the same Word document,
have them research the consequences if we do not exercise.
-Benefits of Exercise
-Questions
-Once students are done sharing, then ask them, what does technology and our
well-being have in common?
(looking for things such as our posture, correctly typing and using a mouse)
-Discussion

-If students are having trouble looking for things in common, then give them
ideas. (Such as maintaining a safe distance from a computer screen, sitting up
straight, siting for long periods of time)
-Have students take down notes on same word document.
-Ask students how often they spend exercise each week and ask them how many
spend time on the computer phones, and time spent watching television.
-Ask students how being on the computer and phone can be just as unhealthy as
eating fried foods.
Have students get into groups of 4 by grouping them by last name. Have them
create a skit (2-5 min) on the importance of exercise and incorporating one of the

And when you improve your strength and stamina, it's easier to accomplish everyday tasks like
carrying groceries and climbing stairs. This also helps you feel more energetic over the course of the
day.
A common excuse among Atkinson's clients is that they're too tired to exercise, he says. While
exercise may make you feel more tired at first, he says, that won't last long.
The physical tiredness you feel after working out isn't the same as everyday fatigue, he says.
Besides, once your body adjusts to exercise, you'll have more energy than ever.
Provided you don't overdo it, he says, exercise can even boost immune function -- so you spend less
time down with a cold or flu.
"There isn't a major health problem where exercise cannot have a positive effect," says Byrant.
1. Picking the right mouse and keyboard. Arthritis can develop from constant typing and clicking
2. Sitting up straight: Make sure you are straight up in your chair with you back flat against the back and your feet on
the ground
3. Maintain a safe distance from the screen. Do not sit too close, do not stare at the screen for long periods of time.
4. Do not sit for long periods at a time. Frequently get up and do other activities
