Good evening ladies and gentlemen,

and welcome to Ingolstadt. We have just seen seven decades of exciting automobile history in rapid
succession. Seven decades full of fascinating coupes; Mattias Ekstrm has just driven the sportiest of them
onto the stage. All our coupes underscore one message: Vorsprung is a great tradition at Audi.
Since the nineteen-fifties, our coupes have combined the best of several worlds: They are comfortable
and practical like a sedan, dynamic and emotional like a sports car, as well as elegant and unique design
icons in fact. Made by Audi that means: no lowest common denominator and no compromises. All of our
coupes are one thing above all: They are at the top of their game.
Not just their attractive shape appeals. The hard facts appeal as well. The success of our coupes is based on
the principle of offering everything that discerning customers expect and more than they dreamt of on top:
More elegance that was already to be seen with the DKW F91 two-seat coupe in 1953. More everydaypracticality as with the Audi 100 Coupe S in 1972 and more sportiness as delivered by the Audi quattro
in 1988. Our coupes make every day into a holiday on a regular basis. The Audi A5 Coup* is the best
example of that. We produce it at our headquarter here in Ingolstadt. The first generation was already
a design revolution. It has already cast its spell on around 320,000 customers. That makes the Audi A5
Coup the bestselling mid-range coupe in Audis history. We have been gaining customers with it all over
the world since 2007 in the important coupe market Europe and increasingly also in Asia and the United
States.
The second generation will continue this success. Because we are raising coupe fascination to a new level,
with the perfect combination of form and function. Its engines offer more performance and consume less
fuel. Interior space has increased considerably. The equipment of our mid-range coupe is at the high-end
level. Their workmanship is of premium quality and they offer smooth connectivity with the customers
digital world, as well as significantly more driving pleasure and safety. You can experience all of that now
in todays world premiere.
