This is a primary source photo of Bernard Montgomery during a press briefing,

Normandy, June 12th, 1944. This helped me understand he was a motivator and good
speaker and never gave up on his troops. He was preparing them for a large invasion in
WWll, he was getting them prepared to die but when they did they would have died for
there country. He had trained his troop to their best shape and he knew they were ready to
fight and win for their country.

This is a primary source article about Bernard Montgomery and a speech he gave to the
troops in the invasion of D-day. He was very confident in his troops ability and he knew
that they were going to a large invasion that some may not make it but he was knew his
troops were ready. He had to prepare his troops physically and mentally for this major
invasion for a victory to come easier and swifter.

This Secondary source Article about Bernard Montgomery helped explain Why he was a
good General. He was a risk taker that was not afraid and knew how to try to stop the

germans, And if he did not lead his troops to try and stop the germans then the germans
could have gotten more powerful and nobody would be able to stop them, which would
lead to a mass murder of millions and millions of people.
